The Main Focus of the Role: 

The Linux Systems Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and performance of Sharpstream’s audio streaming platform. You’ll work on designing, building, and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure and automating processes to help maintain our 99.995% SLA. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design and implement scalable Linux systems using infrastructure as code and automation tools like Ansible. 

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to maintain high availability and meet performance targets. 

• Optimize the TCP/IP stack and tune network systems for maximum efficiency and throughput. 

• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to continuously improve system performance and reliability. 

• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure any system emergencies are swiftly resolved. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Essential Skills: 

• 3-5 years of experience in Linux systems administration (Debian preferred). 

• Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP. 

• Strong understanding of network protocols, particularly TCP/IP, and experience with load balancing (e.g., Nginx, HAProxy). 

• Experience in container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus. 

• Experience with relational databases like MySQL, Galera or BigQuery 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 

• Cultural Fit:

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
