What you will do:
- Write digital news stories for the Newstalk website
- Create interesting, accurate, and compelling articles based on on-air content and reporting
- Use embedded videos, social media posts, and podcasts to create multimedia articles
- Use photo libraries and basic image editing software to ensure articles have an eyecatching visual component
- Compose social media posts that engage audiences and drive traffic to the websites
- Proof-read articles written by yourself and others to ensure they are accurate, concise,
 and compelling
- Work in a busy news environment, with fast-moving stories and an ever-changing news
 agenda
- Chase stories and work with the wider newsroom so stories are robustly covered on-air
 and online
If the following traits sound like you, you might be the right person to join our team.
- You are an excellent writer
- You have a nose for a story with the ability to identify the strongest news line
- You are comfortable writing clear, concise news copy to tight deadline
- You work at a fast pace and are comfortable prioritising workload in an efficient,
 organised manner
- You are imaginative and adept at optimising on-air content for the web
- You are a team player
- You are flexible and willing to work shifts on weekdays and weekends.
- You have a thorough working knowledge of how the news cycle works
- You are an excellent proof-reader
- You have a good working knowledge of WordPress and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Burli and image/video editing software would also be beneficial
