We are a multinational procurement team, currently consisting of 25 colleagues, based mainly in Hamburg, Germany and the UK, with further localities and colleagues still being added in 2024. Being responsible for streamlining and optimizing the procurement processes 

with all areas of Bauer Media Group, while at the same time generating savings across all commodities. 

  

For our headquater in Hamburg we are looking for a Group Procurement Manager IT (m/f/d)

 

 

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for IT categories to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Oversee relationships with IT vendors, negotiating contracts, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Take ownership of the IT procurement category (mainly infrastructure and to some extend services and software), including understanding market trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and optimizing supplier relationships.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives such as bulk purchasing, contract renegotiation, and vendor consolidation to maximize efficiency and minimize expenses.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement, including supplier reliability, product quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Group Technology, finance, and senior management to understand their needs and align category strategies accordingly.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements with IT vendors, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and protecting the organization's interests.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the performance of IT vendors and monitor the effectiveness of procurement strategies.

 

 

Your profile

  • Completed bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, economics or comparable
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic procurement, supply chain management or comparable areas in international organizations with focus on IT
  • Advanced ability to negotiate effectively with IT vendors including the ability to understand the needs of both parties, identify common ground, and advocate for the organization's interests while maintaining positive relationships.
  • You would describe yourself as a effective communicator with a strategic mindset and strong leadership skills
  • You have the ability to analyze complex data, market trends, and vendor performance involving evaluating cost-saving opportunities
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure advantageous agreements while maintaining positive supplier relationships are a must have
  • Business fluent German and English, oral and written and excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
