Senior FP&A Analyst (Financial Controller) - 12 Month Maternity Cover

We are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst (Financial Controller) to join our Group FP&A team in Hamburg on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

Job Purpose

In this role, you will play a key part in modernising, automating, and standardising reporting and planning processes across Corporate Functions. You will work closely with Finance and Technology stakeholders to improve reporting quality, strengthen governance, and deliver meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making. You will also drive transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and create scalable financial processes across the organisation.

Our Team

You will be joining the Group FP&A team, which provides financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and performance insight at Group level. We partner with leaders across the business to support informed decision-making, identify risks and opportunities, and help deliver Bauer Media Group's financial objectives. Working in a collaborative international environment, you will engage with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders across multiple functions and regions.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Drive automation and modernisation initiatives across SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Power BI reporting solutions.
• Scale and improve reporting capabilities across multiple lines of business.
• Act as a senior point of contact for Technology Finance methodologies, processes, and data quality.
• Support FP&A activities and ensure alignment between Technology Finance and Group FP&A.
• Oversee financial reporting structures within SAP S/4HANA and SAC, ensuring data integrity and consistent reporting standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase automation and enhance reporting processes.
• Analyse financial data and create high-quality management reports and executive presentations.
• Establish and maintain standardised frameworks for intercompany transactions and reporting.
• Lead cross-functional transformation projects from concept through implementation.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• Demonstrable experience in finance, controlling, FP&A, or a related analytical finance environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and corporate cost structures.
• Strong analytical capability with a high affinity for data and process improvement.
• Logical and structured approach to problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different functions.
• Business, Finance, Economics qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English language skills.

Desirable:

• Previous FP&A experience.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and/or Power BI.
• German language skills.
• Experience supporting finance transformation or automation initiatives.
