We’re looking for a Bulletin Editor to join our award-winning news team on a Permanent basis.

 

As the Bulletin Editor, you'll be at the forefront of our news coverage, reacting swiftly to breaking news and digging deep to find unique stories across our news patch. You’ll be working across a diverse range of platforms—on-air, online, and social media—ensuring our audience is always in the know.

 

Our Team

You will be joining a passionate News Team, based right across the UK. We tell stories from the perspective of people living them and the places where they happen and we are authentic in our delivery. They are at the forefront of our news coverage, reacting swiftly to breaking news and digging deep to find unique stories across.

 

 

This is a Hybrid role based in either our Manchester or Leeds broadcast centres. It could also support a balance of working from home.

 

 

What you will be doing

  • Plan, source, and deliver news stories and playing a role in curating and crafting bulletins throughout the day for Bauer’s portfolio of stations, all from one of our major news centres.
  • Produce content on each story, including for on-air as well as for the news pages of our website and our social media channels.
  • Have sharp enough judgement to be across the news agenda and react to breaking news in your patch.
  • Although this role is focused on bulletin creation, you may report from the scene of news events across all platforms as required.
  • Work with other team members across the UK to maintain news diaries and plan ahead to enhance our news output in all day parts. 

 

What you will bring 

  • A recognised broadcast journalism qualification or similar.
  • Fully conversant with media law and Ofcom Broadcast Code. 
  • In-depth knowledge of current affairs.
  • Proven experience of producing and editing news bulletins.
  • Ability to read live and pre-record news bulletins to a high standard.
  • Demonstrable competence in social media and web editing skills.
  • Skilled in all social media platforms and audio for online purposes. 
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.
