You’ll be joining Bauer Media Audio’s digital architecture team, a group dedicated to enabling and transforming our digital systems. We design and oversee the implementation of online capabilities across web, mobile, and connected devices, ensuring millions of listeners can interact with and consume our services seamlessly. Our team works across multiple platforms to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that support Bauer’s ambitious digital strategy.
The Difference you will make
As a Cloud Architect, you’ll provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to ensure our cloud-first solutions meet the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps engineers, and product teams to design architectures that support high-traffic, transactional services. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Bauer’s digital platforms and ensuring operational excellence across our systems.
You’ll act as a mentor, a subject matter expert, and a key link between technical teams, driving innovation and alignment with business goals.
Your role
You will lead architectural initiatives and provide technical oversight across cloud-native platforms.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Evangelising best practices and mentoring development and DevOps teams.
- Acting as the primary link between technical teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
- Providing subject matter expertise in cloud-first development principles.
- Participating in product roadmap sessions and ensuring technical alignment.
- Ensuring solutions meet high standards of security, resilience, and performance.
- Reducing technical debt and identifying opportunities for improvement in our tech stack.
- Deputising for the Principal Platform Architect when required.
The Skills you will bring
- In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery pipelines (CI/CD).
- Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and high-traffic systems.
- Familiarity with Open Source Software and Open API techniques.
- Awareness of modern security practices and data handling challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Proven experience mentoring and leading technical teams.
- Experience in software development, DevOps, or architecture roles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; cloud certifications desirable.

Permanent, full-time role. Remote
