Associate Editor, GRAZIA (Fashion & Luxury)

The Focus of the Role:

 

As Associate Editor, you will be producing fashion & luxury pages, covers, main fashion stories, digital, video and social content, which are the best in the market in terms of relevance to the brand’s audience and quality of creative excellence

This content should both deliver digital traffic and engagement targets and contribute to the continued commercial and newsstand success of print!

 

You’ll have a hybrid working model where you’ll work from the London office 3 days per week, and the rest working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Running the Grazia fashion departments and work closely with the Editor, Art Director and Digital Director
  • Deliver the fashion pages to the Production Editor’s deadlines
  • Consistently organising and supervising shoots that stand out and make the magazine famous in its market – both with readers and relevant advertisers
  • Writing compelling copy that gets national pick-up, often at speed in response to news events
  • Representing the brand at key industry events – including RTW shows in Milan and Paris
  • To maintain Grazia’s key relationships with the fashion industry and keep positive working relations with all external parties: photographers, stylists, agents, publicists, celebrities and advertisers
  • Maintain a high standard of photography/models while looking out for and nurturing new talent, and add to Grazia’s roster of creative contributors
  • Developing reader involvement within the fashion area outside of words and pictures – eg through events such as shop promotions and/or on new digital platforms
  • To deliver fashion content online that meets traffic, engagement, affiliate and other relevant targets
  • To deliver fashion content on social that meets targets and pushes new boundaries
  • To work with digital division to explore and exploit new digital revenue opportunities: eg, newsletters, new social channels
  • To adhere to all budgets and report all expenditure; producing mark-ups and cost estimates as appropriate
  • To manage, coach and help develop the fashion team

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience working in the fashion and luxury world.
  • Skilled writer and commissioner; both words and shoots.
  • Have strong management skills.
  • Worked cross platform; with a clear grasp of how to grow audiences across digital and social, but also experience of flatplanning and producing print pages.
  • Know plenty of contacts within the fashion and luxury world
  • Professional stakeholder management and be an ambassador for grazia at external events.
