You’ll be joining the Hits Radio Content team, working at the heart of one of the UK’s biggest and most ambitious pop radio brands, reaching millions of listeners nationwide.
Hits Radio’s mission is to become the UK’s biggest pop station. We’re a collaborative, creative team of producers, presenters and content leaders focused on delivering relatable, entertaining and live-in-the-moment content across radio, digital and events.
This role sits primarily within the Hits Radio Network. You will also be part of the wider Youth and Young Adult content leadership team, giving you the opportunity to contribute to network-level thinking and gain exposure to the KISS Network, while keeping your day-to-day focus firmly on Hits Radio.
The difference you will make:
In this senior role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and delivering the content strategy for Hits Radio, supporting the Director of Content to drive audience growth, creative excellence and commercial success.
You’ll lead the execution of content plans across Hits Radio, ensuring the highest standards of output, compliance and delivery. As part of the wider Youth and Young Adult leadership team, you’ll also contribute to strategic discussions that help shape Bauer’s youth brands, offering valuable development beyond your core Hits Radio remit.
Your role:
As Deputy Director of Content, you will lead the day-to-day content operation across the Hits Radio Network, ensuring strong planning, outstanding execution and continued audience growth.
- Leading and coaching producers and presenters across Hits Radio to deliver outstanding, audience-led content
- Supporting the Director of Content in delivering the Hits Radio content strategy
- Deputising for the Director of Content when required
- Managing the day-to-day content operation across multiple locations
- Driving strong forward planning across schedules, content plans and key projects
- Monitoring output and performance to identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensuring full compliance with all broadcast codes and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with high-profile presenters and relevant agents
- Collaborating with commercial programming teams to deliver high-quality commercial content
- Developing and delivering creative content strategies for Hits Radio on the Rayo app
- Contributing to wider Youth and Young Adult leadership discussions, including exposure to the KISS Network
- Leading large-scale projects including live events and charity initiatives
The skills you will bring:
Essential
- Strong understanding of the Hits Radio brand, music and audience
- Proven experience delivering compelling content that drives audience growth
- Strong, inclusive leadership and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with on-air talent and senior stakeholders
- Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to interpret RAJAR and digital audience data and turn insight into action
- Experience using scheduling, play-out or programming systems
- Understanding of budget and financial management processes
- Confidence using PowerPoint, Excel and presentation tools
Desirable
- Knowledge of the KISS brand and youth audiences
Working Pattern / Location:
This is a full-time, permanent role based in London, with hybrid working in line with business needs.
