You'll collaborate with National & Regional Technology teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure faults while continuously improving network reliability, performance, and features

This will be a hybrid position where you will work from home and our office in London.

Our Team:

The IP Broadcast Engineering team look after the ‘glue’ that holds Bauer Media’s broadcasting together. Whether it’s the links between sites that ensure our regional operation is kept on air, the networking at the heart of our Audio-over-IP studios in our major locations such as London, Manchester and Glasgow or the Virtualisation that provides the foundations our music playout and scheduling are built on – Bauer’s Audio Division is reliant on a reliable and available IT infrastructure across our sites. Working with the corporate network team and Broadcast Engineering teams – the Broadcast Networks team strive to deliver and support this infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Handle a wide range of technical tasks related to maintaining broadcast infrastructure, with a focus on IP Networks, including switch configuration, routing, firewall changes, and incident investigation.
  • Liaise with internal and external contacts to troubleshoot and optimize Wide/Local Area Networks, virtualization, and storage, prioritizing availability and low latency.

What you’ll bring:

Ideally you should have experience of the configuration and use of IT technology within the broadcast environment. You should definitely already have experience working independently on a range of IT Infrastructure and networking technologies so will likely have experience in a number of similar roles.

The most vital skill you’ll possess will be an engineering mindset, can-do attitude and desire to work to produce and maintain a robust & resilient platform to support our 24/7 broadcast activity.

You will have the ability and confidence to deal with a range of incidents and requests with minimal guidance, and not be afraid to seek assistance and knowledge where required.

Exposure to or experience of at least some of the following would be considered a distinct advantage.
