Our Team: 
Bauer’s Audience Team is responsible for ensuring that we can reach, engage and acquire users from across the web – primarily from Google search, but also from social media. Our team are experts in content optimisation, technical SEO and social media platforms, and work closely with colleagues across our editorial, product and development to ensure that our sites and content perform as well as possible in search.

 

The Main Focus of the Role:
Based in either the London or Peterborough office (flexible working possible) you will work closely with the Head of Audience Development to help implement SEO editorial processes and deliver growth in organic traffic and search visibility on brands across our portfolio.
We value any experience with SEO in automotive, insurance, or marketplace site, though it's not essential for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research opportunities for organic search growth and provide actionable insights to editors.
  • Train editorial teams in SEO best practises including internal linking and the importance of topical authority.
  • Website auditing and ownership of content SEO improvements.
  • Monitor organic search traffic, track keywords and adjust SEO strategies accordingly
  • Attend weekly meetings with various brand teams to update them on SEO progress, what is/isn’t working and content priorities for the following week
  • Create weekly and monthly SEO reports, showing progress, and identify weakness or lost opportunities
  • Keep pace with Google algorithm updates and refine best practices accordingly
  • Be data-driven and continually looking into search demand, topics and trends from a variety of data sources 
  • Attend industry events and run workshops with Bauer Media teams to share knowledge
  • Support and assist on other areas, such as managing relationship with external agencies

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Some previous experience of working in SEO, preferably within a content / publishing environment
  • Experience/knowledge with using keyword tools for research and competitor analysis
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics & Webmaster tools
  • Diplomatic and persuasive with superb communication skills to build working relationships with editors and development team
  • A passion for SEO and a comprehensive understanding of SEO best practices, including what it takes to create great content
  • Understanding of search engines and how they work
  • Excel skills to work with raw data, and using the insights to present back to teams
  • Willing and eager to learn and develop skills 
  • A background in SEO for autos, marketplace, or insurance-focused websites is helpful, though we're open to candidates from a variety of sectors
