Senior Communications Executive

The Focus of the Role:

 

As our Senior Communications Executive you will support the planning, production, activation, and evaluation of internal and external communication projects for Bauer Media’s UK Publishing operation. You’ll support the Head of Corporate Communications (Publishing UK) in devising and implementing creative and effective communications that support key messages for Bauer’s employees and its external audiences.

 

This will include communications that drive awareness of key business initiatives across our UK Publishing operation and the wider organisation such as our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments, sustainability agenda, and learning & development output.  

 

As the successful candidate, you would play an important role in driving cultural change across the business, as well as managing the internal news agenda.

 

This role offers a hybrid working model, meaning 2 days per week in our London office, and the rest working from home.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Communications

  • Partner with Head of Communications to deliver internal campaigns and materials.
  • Manage and publish content on the employee intranet.
  • Deliver multimedia campaigns and employee updates (townhalls, newsletters, Q&As).
  • Support change, transformation, and OD communications with effective plans and toolkits.
  • Draft and curate content across departments, including HR policy updates.
  • Apply digital skills (intranet, video, photo editing) to enhance communications.

External & Strategic Communications

  • Develop and implement creative strategies for Bauer’s publishing brands.
  • Manage stakeholders and foster strong relationships across the business.
  • Produce multimedia executions to agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with digital/social teams to amplify content.
  • Handle media queries and support issues management.
  • Align communications activity with KPIs and analyse results.
  • Build and maintain external media, influencer, and industry relationships.
  • Conduct media/social monitoring and demonstrate strong knowledge of the media landscape.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven internal communications experience.
  • Ability and confidence to deliver engaging campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Confidence in video content sourcing and social-style communications, including platforms such as TikTok and Viva Engage.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools for content creation and graphic design, bringing innovation to communications.
  • Exposure to change communications, supporting transformation projects and ensuring effective employee engagement.
  • Ability to be creative and adaptable
  • Passion for communications and willingness to learn and explore!
