Senior Picture Editor, GRAZIA

The Focus of the Role:

 

As our Senior Picture Editor, your role centres on picture research and sourcing compelling imagery to support editorial content, while also generating picture-led ideas and confidently presenting them. You’ll be responsible for working within a defined picture budget, completing markups of image usage, and contributing to shoot production - such as organising still life shoots - to ensure visual storytelling is both creative and cost-effective.

 

This role will have a hybrid working model, so will have 3 days in the office (Tues to Thurs) and the rest working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the standard of pictures reflects the content in a clear, compelling and accurate way, delivering innovative visual storytelling across print, digital and social media
  • Working closely with the Photography director, Art team and Senior editors to ensure the standard of pictures fits the visual style and excellence of the premium brand
  • Brainstorming picture-led stories, sourcing engaging images and delivering on photography briefs
  • Liaising with Art and Production over picture status and keeping them informed of expected delays or issues
  • Building, maintaining, and developing excellent working relationships with picture agencies, plus negotiating the best rates and usage rights
  • Presenting an edit of pictures to daily conference
  • Working within picture budgets
  • Completing a mark-up of picture usage within the issue
  • Producing photo-shoots and organising still-life product shots for features, as required
  • Securing locations, liaising with contributors, working with the team to deliver photography briefs

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Previous experience of originating and developing ideas for visuals for a premium brand
  • Experience in creating effective (i.e driving traffic & engagement) imagery for site and social media
  • Experience of working across high fashion, beauty, interiors and lifestyle imagery
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A flair for image selection and an eye for a strong news picture
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain and develop professional relationships with photographers and picture agencies
  • Ability to work to deadlines and be adaptable to change
