Video Producer, Podcasts

About Bauer Podcasts:

At Bauer, we see podcasts as multi-platform digital media brands. We value entertainment and creativity, working with celebrity talent to bring audiences their favourite series week after week. We believe podcasts should be 360: we’re on your social feeds, on your listening platforms and on your TV. We work with the biggest brands and commercial partners to make this happen.

We are looking for a Video Producer to join our Podcast and Video teams in London.

The Role:

Reporting into the Senior Video Producer, this role works across video production for multiple Bauer-owned podcasts. You’ll be working on industry-leading productions with millions of listeners, spanning the worlds of comedy, entertainment, wellness and sport. You will directly contribute to the end-to-end completion of podcast video for multiple projects at a time, working on filming, editing and delivering longform and shortform content for each. You’ll be comfortable working with celebrity talent, including names such as Olivia Attwood, Katherine Ryan, Pete Wicks, Roxie Nafousi, Gemma Atkinson and more.

Working closely with our Video Hub, audio producers and podcast social leads, you’ll be an expert in producing engaging video that pops on socials and grows reach. You’ll have great technical knowledge, capturing both audio and video to the highest standard. You’ll be comfortable working on set, bringing positivity to talent and crew to help create a productive atmosphere. You’ll have great attention to detail and commitment to excellence. You have a genuine passion for podcasts, entertainment content, social media and podcast audiences.

This is a hands-on, creative role with an emphasis on video production. You will be expected to both film and edit podcast episodes, working as part of a crew to build sets; manage lighting, camera and audio equipment; process footage; derig our studios and edit both longform and shortform content, often with tight turnarounds.

This is a hybrid role - you will be expected to work on location, at home and from our London office. A flexible approach to working hours should be expected. You may be required to film outside normal working hours and on those days you would start later or finish earlier.

Key responsibilities:

  • Filming weekly episodes of Bauer’s podcasts
  • Working with the Senior Video Producer to build and derig podcast sets of all sizes, in a variety of locations
  • Managing technical capture of both audio and visuals - including offload of footage.
  • Collaborating with a crew of internal staff and additional freelancers
  • Directing talent when needed
  • Editing video content - both full longform episodes and shortform social clips
  • Directly contributing to end to end delivery of podcast video
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Working with the wider team to design and create a podcast’s look and feel, from the physical set to the graphics package and overall visual identity
  • Developing creative video ideas to take our podcasts to the next level

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Solid video production experience
  • Solid knowledge of camera, lighting and audio equipment
  • Confident self-shooter, ideally in a podcast setting, with experience working with celebrity talent
  • Significant experience working with the Adobe suite. Proficiency in Premiere Pro is essential. Proficiency in Adobe Audition is desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of social video content and how podcasts fit into this
  • Calm, positive and patient team player
  • Proactive, committed, quick thinking and able to work calmly under pressure
  • Great attention to detail and commitment to high quality output
  • Strong communication skills and openness to learn
  • Good awareness of Health and Safety requirements on shoots
