Video System Engineer

Video Systems Engineer

Location: UK (Hybrid)

Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

Business Area: Audio | Reports to: Group Technology Director – Audio

At Bauer Media Audio, we don’t just do radio – we do video. And we’re scaling it fast.

From in-studio footage and artist sessions to live events and interviews, our teams are producing more video content than ever. To meet this growing demand, we're building a modern, cloud-based video platform that integrates seamlessly with our audio and digital systems. Now, we’re looking for a Video Systems Specialist to help us make it happen.

This is a technical advisory role – not a team management position. You’ll work closely with engineers and video producers across our nine European markets, helping shape the right tools, codecs, lighting setups, and production workflows to bring our brands to life on video.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Shape the Video Tech Stack: Develop and implement Bauer Audio’s video systems roadmap across our European footprint.
  • Advise, Don’t Command: Act as a trusted advisor to market teams, supporting technical decision-making (e.g. codecs, lighting setups, capture standards) without imposing top-down control.
  • Engineer Great Workflows: Collaborate with cloud, asset management, and integration teams to design smooth, joined-up systems from camera to content delivery.
  • Standardise and Scale: Help identify consistent, cloud-friendly solutions for video production, editing, and distribution that scale across use cases.
  • Hands-On Support: Guide and assist local teams in adopting and embedding new tools and processes, with practical support when needed.
  • Future-Proof the Infrastructure: Ensure video systems are integrated into our wider architecture and ready for tomorrow’s creative challenges.

Your Experience:

  • 3+ years working in video engineering or broadcast systems, ideally with cloud-based video infrastructure
  • Strong technical understanding of video production workflows, including studio lighting, 4K, NDI, codecs, cloud storage, and network infrastructure
  • Experience in advising technical decisions in broadcast or digital video production environments
  • Comfortable working across studio, social, and live video content formats
  • Fluent in Business English and confident working across diverse international teams

You Are:

  • A technical problem solver who can translate complex needs into elegant solutions
  • Someone who enjoys advising, not directing – you empower teams with knowledge, not mandates
  • Curious and hands-on, with a love of good content and even better systems
  • Comfortable bridging engineering, production, and commercial conversations
  • Able to influence and align stakeholders, even without direct line management

Why Join Us:

Bauer Media Audio is transforming its entire technology stack — and video is a key part of that evolution. This role puts you at the heart of that change, with the chance to shape the tools, platforms, and workflows used by some of Europe’s most loved media brands.
