About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and charismatic Managing Editor for the iconic Today FM.

Reporting to the Managing Editor National & Regions, this role will be responsible for delivering a content strategy to grow Today FM’s audience and further develop the station as a leading content provider across its many platforms.
You will use your skills as a creator to deliver the vision for Today FM and utilise your creative flair to help set Today FM apart from its competitors and you will be instrumental in delivering a digital audio strategy for the brand.
This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced programme maker to be an integral part of Bauer Media Audio Ireland’s senior content team as we work together to achieve big ambitions.
What you'll do:
- In conjunction with Managing Editor National & Regions, deliver the creative direction and content strategy for Today FM, creating the best content and building connections with more people in more ways, every day.
- Lead and inspire talented teams of presenters, producers, and content creators across Today FM and its digital audio products
- Oversee talent recruitment, development, and performance — ensuring Today FM remains home to the best national talent.
- Support growth across all platforms, including live radio, digital streams, podcasts, and social video.
- Monitor audience engagement - track audience listening data, surveys, and social media to assess the effectiveness of the strategy.
- Ensure high-quality, compliant content that reflects Today FM values and resonates with target audiences
- Collaborate across departments to integrate commercial opportunities within the content offering.
- Act as a key ambassador internally and externally for Today FM
What you'll have:
- A proven programme maker and leader with a track record of delivering audience growth in competitive markets.
- Deep understanding of the Irish audio landscape
- Strong editorial instincts, creative vision, and a flair for storytelling that cuts through.
- Significant experience delivering a wide content offering, Today FM is a music and entertainment station with presenters who can create amazing moments.
- Confident managing budgets, schedules, and people
- Digitally fluent and future-focused, with a passion for growing audio brands across platforms.
- Collaborative, energetic, and inspiring, leading teams of producers, talent, and other content creators, providing guidance, support, and motivation. — someone who leads from the front and brings people with them.
- An ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills are essential
- This is a fast paced, dynamic and creative role that requires and an ability to manage and lead projects, make difficult decisions and flex and adapt your style to meet competing deadlines
This role is a full-time permanent leadership role, with an expectation to be on-site in Dublin, Marconi House on a full-time basis with some travel within Ireland required
