Finance Undergraduate Placement

We’re looking for 3rd year finance placements to join our commercial finance team on a 12-month FTC.

Our Team

You will be joining the Commercial Finance team which is part of the Bauer Media Audio UK business unit.  We are intertwined with the business, having relationships with key individuals within all departments including the Exec Team, Sales, Programming and Marketing.  We act as Business Partners, providing valuable insight and analysis to help support decision makers.

What you’ll be doing

Our roles are varied and have an element of regular work that needs completing to deadlines along with ad hoc requests that can come from all areas of the business. Primarily you will be:

• Assisting with weekly/monthly accounts production and reporting.
• Assisting with reconciliations, variance and data analysis.
• Assisting with forecast and budgeting uploading and checking.
• Assisting with the raising of purchase requisitions and helping answer queries from the business.
• Liaising with the finance reporting team and transactional accounting teams.
• Assisting with the reconciliation and review of headcount by department.
• Attending any training sessions provided during the placement. 

What you’ll bring

• Completing the placement as part of a University Degree.
• Financially numerate with good Excel skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, with the self-assurance to liaise with Bauer colleagues within different teams and different levels of seniority.
• The ability to manage a busy workload in a time-pressured environment.
• Great team working skills, and the inclination to support others in the team.
• Passionate and curious approach to life.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be completing the placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, through an Industrial Placement/Sandwich Year. The role will be based either in Manchester or London and there will be an expectation that you are primarily office based.

Ideally candidates will be considering a career in finance and studying for a Business, Finance, Maths or Economics related degree, but please feel free to apply if you have the skills required.
