About the Role
We are seeking a News Anchor for TodayFM. The key focus of this role is working on the daily news schedule. The successful candidate must have at least three years on air experience
Reporting to the Group Head of News, the anchor will support the news team across all our stations and the Network News service of Independent Local Radio Stations.
This role includes some weekend / out of hours working dependent on activity.
What you'll do:
- Compile and read hourly news bulletins curated to the TodayFM audience
- Contribute to the news and current affairs show The Last Word
- Generate and execute ideas for original journalism
- Chase breaking and emerging stories
- Develop new news lines on existing stories
- File to hourly deadlines
- Work occasional unsocial hours including weekends
If the following traits sound like you, you might be the right person for the job:
- You are an experienced broadcast journalist with a first- class radio and digital skill set
- You have an all-consuming interest and passion for news, current affairs, and original journalism
- Your contacts book is unrivalled
- You have excellent storytelling skills
- You are a superb copywriter with the ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
- You have a thorough knowledge of the regulatory, legal environments and institutions of the state.

- You have a third-level degree in Journalism or a related discipline.
