Multi-media News & Sport Reporter
We are looking for a Multi-media News and Sport Reporter to join the Bauer Media Northern Ireland News team covering our stations Downtown Radio, Cool FM, Downtown Country and Greatest Hits NI.
This is a permanent role primarily Monday to Friday but will also include weekends when required, you will be expected to work from the office, at home and in the field.
While you will cover both news and sport you will be expected to have a good working understanding of local sport in particular and you will be responsible for on-air sport roundups across the day. In addition, as part of the Bauer Media Audio UK family, you’ll play a role in delivering trusted, compelling news and sport to our listeners and digital audiences across Northern Ireland and beyond.
What You'll Do:
• Create dynamic, interesting and informative audio, video, and written content for Cool FM, Downtown Radio, and Bauer’s wider network across the UK including Greatest Hits and RoI
• Be adaptable to cover a range of news and sport – from breaking stories to human interest content
• Work to high editorial standards, maintaining accuracy, impartiality and balance
• Collaborate with a fast-paced creative team of journalists
What We’re Looking For:
• This will suit a fresh, less experienced journalist, who wants to develop and grow into the profession.
• Ideally you should have a good working knowledge of sport since you will be expected to cover sporting press conferences etc
• A good knowledge of social media platforms and while training will be given, we expect you to have a basic understanding of video interviewing
• A clear confident voice
• A clean driving licence (essential)
• NCTJ or equivalent journalism qualification (desirable)
