Data Analyst

The Focus of Role: 
 

Bauer Publishing is undertaking a transformation programme to optimise key systems and the focus is now on data and analytics. We are looking to redefine the role of data and analytics in Bauer and to get there we need talented individuals with excellent analytical skills.

You will help the advertising operations team for the great brands within Bauer Media make better decisions using data.

 

Digital advertising is a very data-driven business with complex and huge datasets, so you will play a key role in making this data actionable. You will lead the team to the next stage of data, creating reporting solutions and analysis within our newly built data organisation. You will also apply your skills to support the wider UK digital publishing.

 

This role will offer hybrid working, so a mix of attendance in either our Peterborough/London office, and working from home.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be the first point of contact for the advertising operations team for all data-related questions
  • You will work daily with the team to understand their challenges and help them incorporate data into their daily decision routines
  • You build analytics solutions along all steps of the decision-making process – from hypothesis generation, exploratory data analysis and experimentation to monitoring
  • You will connect data from various sources, collaborating with our data product managers and engineers 

What You'll Bring:

Essential - 

  • Proven experience in Analytics
  • Excellent SQL skills, as well as good knowledge in Python or R and BI solutions (e.g. PowerBI)
  • You have solid knowledge of statistics and know how to apply it to business problems
  • You know the difference between being pragmatic and doing it wrong
  • Enjoy engaging with people and explaining complex problems to all audiences


Desirable - 

  • Experience with an online publisher is a plus
