Junior Accountant

Are you an aspiring accountant looking to take the next step in your career? We're excited to welcome a Junior Accountant to our growing Finance team!

The Junior Accountant will work closely with the Financial Accountant to prepare the annual UK entity statutory accounts, report our UK and Non-UK companies’ results to the consolidation team in our parent company in Hamburg, manage the accounting for payroll and other balance sheet areas as required.  

Our Team

The Accounting team is responsible for fulfilling daily accounting tasks plus statutory reporting and the reporting to Germany for the external consolidation for all UK entities. The accounting team also delivers the base for the monthly internal management reporting. Right now, the overall Accounting & Treasury Department includes roughly 30 employees, divided into 3 teams.

This is a hybrid position you will be working from home and our office location in Peterborough.

What will you be doing

• Executing efficient and comprehensive accounting processes. 
• Reconciling intercompany accounts with other worldwide Bauer entities and various balance sheet areas.
• Supporting the team where necessary on ad hoc tasks.
• Monitoring fixed asset transactions in line with the company policy.
• Preparing the payroll upload file for the GL interface and reconciliation of payroll control accounts.
• Ensuring that the different ledgers (local, group, tax) are used correctly.

What will you bring

• Previous accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting, through studying for an accounting qualification, such as AAT or through experience.

• Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentially.
• Ability to manage different stakeholder requests
• Knowledge on Microsoft Excel.
• English fluent.
