Junior Payroll Specialist
We’re looking for a Permanent Junior Payroll Specialist to joining our HR team in our Peterborough Office.
As the Junior Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for administering payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, managing employee benefits plans, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive information.

This is a Hybrid role that supports a balance of working from home and our office in Peterborough.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the Payroll Manager processing the monthly payroll, uploading Monthly Timesheet information and Commission information.
- Assist employees in resolving payroll related issues.
- Support the daily payroll files from people source into iTrent ensuring data integrity.
- Monitor and review daily interface data files from HR system to payroll.
- Escalate key system issues to the Head of HR Ops or payroll issues to Payroll Manager.
- Support the monthly payroll timetable and chase relevant parties where needed.
- Reconcile net monthly pay, maternity leave and starters / leavers.
- Reconcile cost codes between iTrent and People Source.
What you’ll bring
- Understanding of payroll processes, SLAs, and best practice in operational delivery.
- Customer Service Orientation: Providing supportive responses to employee and manager queries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
- Confident with shared platforms (Teams, SharePoint).
- High accuracy and attention to detail in handling data and documents.
