About The Role
Newstalk is Ireland’s fastest growing independent talk radio station with a weekly reach of reach of 822,000 people across 26 counties. Newstalk continues to grow its audience each year and is known across the nation as the independent voice of Ireland, boasting a strong line-up of Ireland’s leading broadcasters.
Newstalk is also one of the most respected media brands in the country, having a track record for engaging programmes and content that have helped to grow our reputation and our listenership.
Newstalk is recruiting for a researcher to join our new podcasting team. We're looking for a creative and ambitious candidate who loves podcasts and can create content that is unique and connects to a mass audience.
What you’ll do:
- Researching, developing, editing and playing a central role in producing a range of high-quality podcasts
- Collaborating with producers and presenters to create engaging audio content across a range of our shows
- Contributing to the development of original podcast ideas and formats
- Securing high calibre guests who bring new and engaging opinions, views and discussions
- Researching and writing briefs and supporting materials for a range of podcasts; from current affairs to culture
- Recording and editing of podcasts episodes with occasional tight turnarounds
- Ability to identify engaging content for web, social media and other digital platforms
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in radio or podcast research
- A curious and creative individual who loves a wide range of podcasts
- Excellent storytelling, scripting, and audio editing skills
- A hard worker with an ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with podcast platforms and analytics
- Ability to identify engaging content for web, social media and other digital platforms
- Passion for audio content and an ear for what makes a great story
