Bauer Media Audio Ireland is seeking a Senior Communications Executive who will be responsible for the planning and implementation of external and internal communications and PR for Bauer Media Audio Ireland. The role sits across the team in Ireland and the European-wide Audio Communications network, acting as the market contact for all Ireland communications initiatives.
About the Role
- Working closely with the Marketing Director, the role will be responsible for creating and driving the comms strategy for Ireland, aligning closely with Global/Audio comms strategic objectives and activities
- This role will manage external PR, delivered using the latest digital, engaging multi-platform communications and content creation methods to ensure the message resonates with both B2B and B2C audiences
- The role holder will need to work seamlessly with both the Ireland leadership team and Global/ Audio Communications network to help plan, develop and deliver comms materials in line with agreed plans
- There is a high need for coordination and rapid collaboration, which is reflected in particular through regular meetings and the maintenance of communications calendars, air traffic control and meticulous planning and implementation
- It will seek out strategic opportunities to build and protect the Bauer Media Group brand, radio and audio brands, products, shows and presenters in Ireland, through media and platform campaigns and opportunities, and the handling of press office activity dealing with both proactive and reactive media opportunities.
- Will play a key supporting role in issue management and crisis communications in Ireland, working closely with senior colleagues to ensure appropriate responses and coordination
Your Skills
- Have a proven track contributing to the delivery of successful communications campaigns
- Strong Knowledge of the Irish media landscape, including key trade and national outlets
- Experience working in a complex, fast-paced organisation where both highly collaborative and independent work is required
- O365 skills (especially MS Teams and SharePoint)
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Confident communicator: able to persuade; negotiate; influence; network and work with stakeholders
- Communicate well on both a business and technical level, to all levels of the organisation
- Able to understand complex concepts and communicate them in a simple manner
- Highly organised with a logical approach, great at prioritising and managing productivity
- Able to work both at a detail-orientated and strategic level as and when required
- Highly motivated, delivery focused, pragmatic and excellent presentation skills
Primary Responsibilities
- Ownership and Planning
- Produce strategic project based communications plans, aligning with both local and Global priorities. Ensure all plans are executed to a high level, with results reported back to key stakeholders.
- PR & Comms activity which ties into the strategic Bauer Media Audio messaging
- Demonstrate measurable ability of enhanced forward-planning and project-management, prioritisation, copy-writing and editing. Work seamlessly with the Global Communications Network for Audio, ensuring plans are fully integrated.
- Support the coordination and delivery of internal and external communications events, including company-wide meetings, media events and stakeholder engagements, ensuring alignment with overall coms objectives and messaging
- Act as the key liaison for Ireland with the BMA Europe communications team to ensure alignment of strategy and consistency messaging and across digital platforms, implementing strategy and toolkits, where required
External Communications
- Work closely with the Ireland team to create a cohesive thought leadership strategy with consistent messaging across press coverage, news, speaking opportunities, trade events and awards entries
- Achieve regular and consistent coverage shared each month across media, marketing, advertising trade media + sector specific vertical press and any relevant nationals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key trade media
- Ensure coverage is strategically aligned with agreed messaging
- Support the delivery of commercial communications activity, working across Bauer Media’s platforms (audio, digital, publishing) and integrated cross-media offerings.
Channel Management
This role is responsible for content across Bauer Media Audio Ireland’s company-wide channels (intranet, web and social media) and ensuring the channels reflect our corporate, commercial and employer brand priorities.
