What you'll do:

 

Write digital news stories for the Newstalk website
Create interesting, accurate, and compelling articles based on on-air content and reporting
Use embedded videos, social media posts, and podcasts to create multimedia articles
Use photo libraries and basic image editing software to ensure articles have an eyecatching visual component
Compose social media posts that engage audiences and drive traffic to the websites
Proof-read articles written by yourself and others to ensure they are accurate, concise,
and compelling
Work in a busy news environment, with fast-moving stories and an ever-changing news
agenda
Chase stories and work with the wider newsroom so stories are robustly covered on-air
and online

 

What you'll have:

 

You are an excellent writer
You have a nose for a story with the ability to identify the strongest news line
You are comfortable writing clear, concise news copy to tight deadline
You work at a fast pace and are comfortable prioritising workload in an efficient,
organised manner
You are imaginative and adept at optimising on-air content for the web
You are a team player
You are flexible and willing to work shifts on weekdays and weekends.
You have a thorough working knowledge of how the news cycle works
You are an excellent proof-reader
You have a good working knowledge of WordPress and social media platforms.
Familiarity with Burli and image/video editing software would also be beneficial
