At Bauer Media Audio, data is a strategic driver of how we connect millions of listeners with the content they love. Our Data & Decision Sciences (DDS) team supports colleagues across nine European markets, transforming data into actionable insights and scalable solutions that power audience engagement, commercial performance and innovation.

You'll join a collaborative team of engineers, analysts and data specialists working across Commercial, Consumer Competitions and Digital products. We're a supportive and welcoming group that values curiosity, knowledge-sharing and fresh thinking. Whether we're modernising existing platforms or building entirely new solutions, we work together to create technology that delivers real business impact.

The Difference You'll Make
As a Data Engineer, you'll help build the foundations that enable data-driven decision-making across Bauer Media Audio. You'll develop reliable, scalable data solutions that empower teams to better understand audiences, improve customer experiences and unlock new opportunities across multiple markets.

This is an opportunity to join a growing data function where you'll work on a mix of transformation initiatives and greenfield developments. Your work will be visible, meaningful and influential, helping shape how data is used across the business.

Your Role
As part of our Data Engineering team, you'll design, build and maintain robust data solutions that support a wide range of products and business functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building, maintaining and optimising ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Developing and supporting data workflows using orchestration tools such as Airflow.
  • Working with cloud-based data platforms and services to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Ensuring data quality, reliability and consistency across multiple sources.
  • Supporting the evolution of our modern data architecture and engineering practices.
  • Collaborating with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver valuable data products.
  • Participating in code reviews, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshooting technical challenges and developing practical, scalable solutions.

The Skills You'll Bring
We recognise that great candidates don't always meet every requirement. If this role excites you and you have relevant experience, we'd love to hear from you.

We're particularly interested in people with experience in:

  • Strong Python development skills and experience building production-ready data solutions.
  • Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
  • Building and maintaining data pipelines and data engineering workflows.
  • SQL and data modelling concepts.
  • Cloud technologies, ideally AWS, although Azure and GCP experience are also valued.
  • GitHub, GitLab or similar version control platforms.
  • ETL/ELT frameworks and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity and a proactive approach to ownership.

It would be beneficial if you also have experience with:

  • Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tooling.
  • Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift.
  • CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Docker, Kubernetes or container-based deployments.
  • Data, analytics, digital or media-focused environments.
