Senior Transformation and Change Communications Lead
Job purpose:
This is a key role in the Group Communications team, reporting to the SVP, Group Communications. The team’s role is to strengthen employee engagement and advocacy and to manage and protect corporate reputation. It looks after company-wide communications strategy, narrative, campaigns, content & planning, transformation, governance and channels, corporate brand and media relations.
The Senior Transformation and Change Communications Lead will manage communications planning and execution to enable transformation across Bauer Media Group. This includes changing the way the business operates, changing mindsets to drive an innovative entrepreneurial culture and embracing new digital technology and AI.
The role has wide scope and requires independent action as well as collaboration across several support functions. You will provide best-practise change communications planning and delivery, supporting senior stakeholders to implement and embed change successfully across Bauer Media Group.
What you bring to the team:
We’re looking for a highly self-motivated experienced change communication expert with the ability to work autonomously to deepen employee engagement and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. You are passionate about applying data-driven insights, an innovative thinker and outcomes focused, who brings credibility, clarity and integrity.
Key responsibilities:
Design and deliver change communication strategies and plans that deliver desired transformation outcomes
- Lead communications strategy, planning and execution for change initiatives and large-scale transformation activity, from inception through to adoption
- Develop credible, compelling and consumable content helping employees understand the transformation and its effect on the organisation
- Drive behavioural change required for people to accept, adopt and embed change
- Own delivery of strategic change communications priorities, work with stakeholders to look holistically across support function programmes to deliver timely, targeted, effective communications
- Consult business partners in Group and the Lines of Business teams in the preparation of roadmaps and change communications plans to ensure early adoption, local relevance and resonance
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities and deliver timely, effective communications
- Be an active participant in weekly project meetings to discuss workstream progress, risks and interdependencies
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of change communications against KPIs and present to the BMG Communications Committee
- Develop change communications framework to ensure best practice is adopted and optimised across the communications network and business
- Be an advocate for the rules of engagement and ways of working in the new federated communications operating model
- A good understanding of print and digital, audio and advertising, plus a good sense of social media and how to use effectively in building corporate reputation
- Sets an example of desired behaviour in line with BMG values, and helps to shape a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, where people want to work
- Behaves in accordance with the BMG’s policies and Code of Ethics and standards
Key internal relationships:
Will work closely and build rapport with peers across the Enablement and Delivery Team and the Lines of Business to co-create aligned impactful communications that deliver desired high-quality outcomes that meet business requirements.
Role qualifications and skills:
- Significant change communications experience working in transformation programmes in global matrix organisations
- Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, confident in ability to use sound judgement to influence or challenge senior stakeholders in the interest of delivering the right outcome for Group
- Proven ability to lead full lifecycle implementation and manage multiple priorities, across a matrix business to deliver high-quality change communications at pace
- Strong knowledge and practical application of change management methodologies and frameworks, with experience working in agile and fast-paced environments
- Experience delivering change communications impact analysis and roadmaps
- Good proficiency in AI technologies, with a proven track record of applying AI in a corporate environment to enhance communications impact
- Strong analytical capability to assess communication effectiveness, retrieve data, and translate insights data into actionable improvements
- Strong ability to use digital communications including websites, intranets, collaboration tools and social media
- Ability to navigate complex matrix organisations and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and peers across the communications network
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on implementation
- Collaborative team player with integrity and a delivery mindset with experience of working in global communications teams
- Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines, and deliver best-of-breed outcomes at pace
Education and Languages
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Business fluent in English; German or additional languages are a plus
