GoLoud is looking for a Narrative Podcast Producer who is a natural storyteller with a passion for podcasts to work across narrative based content, documentary podcasts, true crime series, and mini-series.

About the Role

GoLoud is looking for a Narrative Podcast Producer who is a natural storyteller with a passion for podcasts to work across narrative based content, documentary podcasts, true crime series, and mini-series.

A key part of this role will be working on Lines of Enquiry, GoLoud’s flagship true crime series presented by former Garda detective John Sweetman. The successful candidate will play an important role in the ongoing writing, production, development and delivery of the podcast, helping to research, script, structure and produce episodes to a high editorial, legal and production standard.

The role will also involve contributing to the wider development of GoLoud’s narrative slate, from ideation and story development through to production, post-production, distribution and audience growth. This includes developing new documentary projects, supporting long form storytelling across existing GoLoud titles.

The successful candidate will work with a team producing high profile, originally reported longform podcasts, finding compelling stories and working with the wider GoLoud team to bring them to audiences.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling and have a strong track record in current affairs reporting, documentary production, narrative audio, or investigative journalism.

A background in audio journalism is advantageous, but not essential in all cases.

What You'll Do:

The Narrative Podcast Producer will support the ongoing production, development and growth of Lines of Enquiry, researching and scripting full episodes, helping to shape story structure, and producing content to a high editorial, legal and production standard.

  • Developing episode outlines, story structures and narrative arcs from source material, interviews, court reporting, archive material and other research.
  • Writing clear, compelling and accurate scripts suitable for spoken word delivery.
  • Ideation and development of narrative, documentary and true crime podcasts.
  • Assisting with the management of the end to end production process for narrative content and documentary projects, ensuring high quality delivery on schedule.
  • Producing premium podcast content across story sourcing, reporting, research, guest booking, contributor management, scripting, recording, editing, postproduction and distribution.
  • Supporting the production of Lines of Enquiry, including story research, full episode scripting, factchecking, recording of episodes and final delivery.
  • Maintaining GoLoud’s high production and editorial standards, ensuring all content meets ethical, compliance and legal requirements.

  • Working with other stakeholders including marketing, social, video, commercial, editorial, events, and data teams to promote podcasts, grow audiences and maximise the impact of each project.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise narrative content across audio, video, social and digital platforms.
  • Working across other GoLoud productions as needed.
  • Carrying out other duties as required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in journalism, audio production, documentary production, podcasting or a related editorial field.

What You'll Have:

  • A strong track record in original storytelling, long form journalism, documentary production or narrative led content.
  • Excellent research and reporting skills, with the ability to source, verify and organise complex information from court reporting, archive material, interviews, public records and other credible sources.
  • Strong writing ability, including experience writing scripts, long form articles or narrative features with clear structure, compelling story arcs and strong spoken word delivery.
  • A skilled audio producer or journalist with experience producing narrative driven projects from development through to final delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Irish defamation law, media law, editorial compliance and the legal risks involved in sensitive or true crime storytelling.
  • Ability to handle sensitive subject matter with accuracy, care and editorial responsibility.
  • Strong audio editing skills and proficiency with audio editing software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, work well under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
