People Business Partner

We’re looking for a People Business Partner to join our UK Publishing People Team, helping deliver the Publishing People Strategy through leadership, talent, capability and organisational effectiveness initiatives.

 

This is a broad, strategic role with the opportunity to lead business-wide people programmes and annual people cycles, while working closely with leaders, Business Partners and Centres of Excellence. You’ll play an important part in developing leadership capability, strengthening talent and succession, improving organisational effectiveness and helping Publishing build the skills it needs for the future.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Lead strategic people initiatives arising from the Publishing People Strategy.
  • Drive programmes that improve organisational effectiveness, productivity and ways of working.
  • Support organisational design, workforce planning and change initiatives.
  • Lead strategic people projects from design through to implementation and evaluation.
  • Lead leadership development, management development and capability-building activity across Publishing.
  • Identify organisational capability requirements and future skills needs.
  • Design, facilitate and evaluate development programmes and learning interventions.
  • Support talent identification, succession planning and career development frameworks.
  • Drive future skills and AI capability initiatives aligned to business priorities.
  • Lead and coordinate annual people processes including performance reviews, talent reviews, succession planning and pay review activity.
  • Design and deliver leadership, management and capability development workshops.
  • Provide flexible business partnering support and assist with employee relations and organisational change programmes when required.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Strong Business Partnering experience within a complex organisation.
  • Experience of learning and development, leadership development and talent management.
  • Experience leading organisational effectiveness, change or transformation initiatives.
  • Good understanding of employee relations and employment law.
  • Strong project and programme management skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching and presentation skills.
  • Ability to design and develop leadership and capability initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • Analytical, commercially minded and focused on continuous improvement.

 

About the team

 

The UK Publishing People Team is based in London and Peterborough and supports leaders, managers and employees across the Publishing business. You’ll work collaboratively with leaders, People Business Partners, the People Relations Partner and Centres of Excellence to deliver people initiatives that support business performance and employee experience.
