This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who is confident managing everything from routine casework through to complex, sensitive and high-risk employee relations matters. You’ll work closely with managers, leaders and People Business Partners to ensure people matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and best practice.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage routine, complex and high-risk employee relations matters.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations relating to conduct, grievance, whistleblowing and workplace concerns.
  • Provide expert advice across disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and performance processes.
  • Assess employee relations risk and provide clear, practical recommendations to managers and leaders.
  • Support restructures, consultation processes, redundancy, redeployment and wider organisational change activity.
  • Work alongside People Business Partners to help implement change successfully.
  • Coach managers on performance, attendance, conduct and wellbeing conversations, helping build confidence and capability.
  • Deliver training, workshops and practical learning sessions on employee relations topics.
  • Use employee relations data and trends to identify opportunities to improve manager capability and employee experience.
  • Contribute to policy development, process improvement and wider People Team priorities.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and consultation activity.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Strong investigation and employee relations capability.
  • Excellent coaching, communication and influencing skills.
  • Sound judgement, problem-solving and risk assessment capability.
  • Confidence managing sensitive and complex situations effectively.
