You'll be joining Bauer's Microsoft 365 team, a highly skilled group responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Microsoft 365 services across Bauer Media Group. We support colleagues across multiple countries and business divisions, ensuring that our collaboration, communication and productivity platforms remain secure, reliable and scalable.
As part of Bauer Global Technology, you'll work closely with Architecture, Security, Product and Support teams, helping to shape the future of our Microsoft 365 estate. The team balances innovation with operational excellence, delivering new capabilities while ensuring the services our colleagues depend on every day continue to perform at their best.
The Difference You Will Make
As our M365 Senior Engineer, you'll play a key role in the technical ownership and evolution of Bauer's Microsoft 365 environment. You'll lead the delivery of complex technical projects, drive service improvements, and help implement our Microsoft 365 roadmap across an international organisation.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll combine deep technical expertise with problem-solving and leadership. You'll act as a senior escalation point for complex issues, influence technical direction, and mentor engineers across the team, helping us deliver secure, modern and efficient workplace services to thousands of colleagues.
Your Role
You'll be a senior technical expert within the Microsoft 365 team, responsible for engineering, supporting and continuously enhancing Bauer's Microsoft 365 platform.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert across Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Leading the technical delivery of Microsoft 365 projects and platform enhancements.
- Supporting the implementation of Bauer's Microsoft 365 roadmap and security initiatives.
- Collaborating with Architecture, Security and Product teams to design and deliver solutions.
- Providing expert 3rd line support and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Developing automation, tooling and operational efficiencies using PowerShell and Microsoft technologies.
- Producing technical documentation, implementation plans and operational runbooks.
- Mentoring engineers and supporting technical development across the wider team.
- Driving continuous improvement and best practice across Microsoft 365 services.
The Skills You Will Bring
Essential
- Proven experience engineering and supporting Microsoft 365 within a medium to large enterprise environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Strong experience with hybrid identity environments, including Entra Connect.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 security and identity technologies, including Conditional Access, MFA and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Graph, managed identities and app-based authentication.
- Experience delivering complex technical projects, changes and service improvements.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across Microsoft 365 services.
- Experience creating technical documentation, implementation plans and support documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, including eDiscovery, DLP, Information Protection and Retention.
- Experience delivering Microsoft 365 migrations across Exchange, SharePoint Online or OneDrive.
- Experience with Azure Automation and related automation tooling.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra Suite, Global Secure Access, Access Packages and Identity Governance.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio.
- Exposure to ServiceNow, Halo, Monday.com, GitHub or similar enterprise platforms.
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, SC-300 or equivalent.
