R2R Global Process Owner (GPO)
The Global Process Lead (Interim) supports the Global Process Owner (GPO) in the day-to-day governance, operational oversight, stakeholder coordination, and continuous improvement of the group-wide SAP S/4HANA Golden Template R2R (Record-to-Report) process.
In this role, you will help ensure the effective execution of established process governance, support change management activities, monitor process compliance and performance, and drive operational process improvements across the organization.
You will work closely with the GPO and act as the primary operational counterpart for R2R process-related activities during the interim assignment. The role provides broad exposure to global finance processes and requires close collaboration with stakeholders across markets, legal entities, business units, and functions.
The GPO retains end-to-end process ownership, approval authority, and final decision-making responsibility for the R2R process, Golden Template, and process changes.
About the Team
You will be part of our Finance Transformation & Excellence Team, a team of 8 colleagues working together to support and continuously improve our global finance processes, systems, and standards.
The team operates at the intersection of Finance, IT, process management, and transformation, working closely with stakeholders across the organization and across markets.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Process Governance & Operational Management

Support the day-to-day governance of the global R2R process.

Ensure adherence to the approved Golden Template and global process standards.

Coordinate process-related activities across markets, legal entities, and business units.
-
Maintain process documentation and support ongoing governance activities.
-
Maintain global process standards and guidelines in close consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Support compliance with SAP best practices and Fit-to-Standard principles.

Monitor exceptions, localizations, and compliance with established governance rules.

Prepare recommendations and supporting analysis for governance decisions requiring GPO approval.
Change Management & Coordination
-
Manage the intake, assessment, tracking, and coordination of R2R process change requests.

Ensure change requests are properly documented and supported by an appropriate business justification.

Prepare change requests for review and approval through the established governance process.

Support the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process and follow up on agreed actions.

Coordinate impact assessments across functions, markets, and relevant stakeholder groups.

Track the implementation of approved changes and provide regular status updates to the GPO.
Process Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor R2R KPIs and overall process health.

Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, quality, compliance, and standardization.

Drive operational process improvements and support automation initiatives.

Support the implementation of approved process enhancements.
-
Drive follow-up actions related to process performance and compliance.

Support benefits realization from approved process changes and automation initiatives.

Identify and escalate significant process risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to the GPO.
Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the primary day-to-day contact for R2R process stakeholders.

Work closely with Key Users, Local Process Owners, the CoE, Compliance, Internal Audit, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Governance Boards.

Facilitate alignment between global standards and legitimate local business requirements.

Coordinate discussions and ensure effective communication across stakeholder groups.

Support the resolution of operational process issues and escalations.
-
Manage day-to-day stakeholder engagement and communication.
-
Ensure regular alignment and decision checkpoints with the GPO.
Data Quality
-
Monitor process data quality and consistency across SAP S/4HANA and connected systems.

Coordinate with Data Owners and Data Stewards regarding master data impacts.

Identify and escalate data quality risks and issues.
-
Support the implementation of data quality improvement initiatives.
Collaboration with the GPO

Maintain close and continuous alignment with the GPO on process priorities, risks, change requests, and stakeholder matters.

Provide analysis, recommendations, and relevant insights to support informed decision-making.

Escalate matters requiring process ownership decisions, policy interpretation, or changes to the Golden Template.

Support the GPO in maintaining effective overall process governance and strategic process direction.

Clearly distinguish between operational coordination and decisions that fall under the GPO's process ownership and approval authority.
Job Requirements
Knowledge & Experience

Successfully completed degree in Economics, Finance, Business Informatics, or a comparable discipline.

Several years of professional experience in Finance and/or IT.
-
Sound user knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP FI.
-
Knowledge of SAP BOFC and/or S/4HANA Group Reporting is an advantage.

Experience in projects involving the implementation or transformation of financial software, ideally within an SAP implementation project, either in-house or within an SAP consulting company.

Good knowledge of common MS Office applications.
